Drivers of Change: the Sustainability Imperative (DVD)
L. Hunter Lovins

In this tour-de-force presentation, Hunter Lovins shows that “drivers of change” -- including the global collapse of ecosystems, impending peak oil, climate change and unsustainable population growth -- are gradually forcing governments, corporations and social organizations around the world to completely reinvent themselves in order to meet “the sustainability imperative.” This isn’t a choice, Lovins says; it’s a do-or-die necessity. The good news: there are already plenty of success stories that prove it can be done.

L. Hunter Lovins is President and founder of Natural Capitalism Solutions, a Colorado-based non-profit organization that educates senior decision-makers in business, government and civil society to restore and enhance the natural and human capital while increasing prosperity and quality of life.  She co-founded the Rocky Mountain Institute in 1982, where she served as CEO for 20 years. She holds a JD and several honorary doctorates and has extensive hands-on experience with economic development, forestry, sustainable agriculture, renewable energy and construction of sustainable buildings. She has lectured at major venues in many nations, including at the World Economic Forum at Davos, the International Symposium on Sustainable Development in Shanghai, the Annual General Meeting of UNIDO, the Global Economic Forum and the World Summit on Sustainable Development. She has consulted for industries and governments worldwide and has also worked with many community groups, local economic development agencies and small municipal NGO's. In addition, she created the Economic Renewal Project, helping to write much of its work on sustainable community economic development; served on the State of the World Forums' Commission on Globalization; and was one of four people from North America named to serve as a delegate to the United Nations Prep conference for the World Summit on Sustainable Development in Johannesburg. Recently, Ms. Lovins has worked on projects in Afghanistan, including "Green Afghanistan" and the Afghan Cluster Competitiveness Project with a variety of U.S. government, United Nations and donor agencies. Recipient of such honors as the Right Livelihood Award, Lindbergh Award and Leadership in Business, she was named Time Magazine 2000 Hero of the Planet. She
has co-authored nine books and hundreds of papers, including the 1999 book, Natural Capitalism and 2006 Climate Protection Manual for Cities.
