Third Annual EarthWorks Expo Set for Aug. 22-23, 2009; Group to Launch Speaker’s Bureau in October
DENVER—Sept. 3, 2008—The third annual EarthWorks Expo, Denver’s premier showcase of locally-based green companies and organizations, has been set for the weekend of August 22-23, 2009 at the Denver Merchandise Mart.
EarthWorks Expo is a celebration of Colorado’s burgeoning green marketplace and an inspiring showcase of local solution-providers in renewable energy, green building, green transportation, resource conservation and Earth-friendly products and services for home, business and personal wellness.
“EarthWorks Expo specializes in providing a wide range of informational resources for people who are serious about going green, reducing their carbon footprint and becoming better stewards of the planet,” explains Michael Lindemann, Expo Director. “The Expo is more than an emporium of green products—it’s an empowerment center for comprehensive green living.
“Our second annual show held in late June was a great success,” Lindemann continues. “Attendance was up 50 percent over 2007 and our exhibitor count increased by 20 percent. We anticipate even greater growth in 2009 with up to 200 exhibitors and an attendance of more than 5,000.”
Features of EarthWorks 2009 will include 40 or more workshop presentations, enhanced programs for children and lower admission prices than in 2008. Parking at the Denver Merchandise Mart is free and the Mart is served by several bus lines. “As in years past, we are committed to being a zero- waste, low-carbon event,” Lindemann adds.

Speaker’s Bureau to Launch in October
“As part of our commitment to promote green inspiration, information and practical knowledge to the largest possible audience in the Denver metro area, we are launching a uniquely green speaker’s bureau in October 2008 ,” Lindemann says. “Ten or more outstanding speakers will be included in our initial roster, enabling us to offer highly informative and empowering presentations on a wide range of green topics. Presentations can be tailored to meet the needs of schools, colleges, businesses, churches, civic and service organizations, and neighborhood associations—just about any interested group, regardless of size.”
Topics that will be covered by the EarthWorks Speaker’s Bureau include: renewable energy, green building and landscaping, green real estate, organic/sustainable food and gardening, green transportation, relocalization, resource conservation, energy efficiency, green consumer choices, green business development, green investing, environmental stewardship and more. Fees may apply for some speakers.
