PV101:  Introduction to Grid tied Solar PV

This presentation is intended to provide residential and small business clients with a basic understanding of grid tied photovoltaic (PV) systems and their technical and economic considerations. Topics will include:
1) What is solar PV electricity?
2) How does a "grid-connected" solar PV system work?
3) How are PV systems designed and installed?
4) What site considerations are important?
5) How much does it cost?
6) What rebates and incentives are available in Colorado?
7) What are the benefits of PV?

About the Speaker: Jason Sharpe has a long history of passion and experience in renewable energy. Since 1990 he has designed, sold and installed thousands of renewable energy systems and has a deep understanding of both grid-tied and off-grid PV systems. In his presentations, he draws on his 18 years of experience as an electrician, solar installer and sales and design specialist. Jason is the lead technical designer for Namaste Solar Electric. He holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from UVM and is certified in solar PV installation by NABCEP and CoSEIA.
